Things to do in Sarkhej & Makarba
6 events in sarkhej & makarba across Ahmedabad โ mostly dance (5), workshop (1).
Sarkhej Roza, in Makarba about 7 km south-west of the city centre, is a 15th-century complex of mosque, tombs and pavilions around a stepped tank, built around the shrine of the Sufi saint Shaikh Ahmed Khattu Ganj Baksh. Le Corbusier compared it to the Acropolis, and it is a Monument of National Importance. Its courtyards have hosted Sufi and classical music evenings staged by arts organisations in the cooler months. Nearby, the village-style restaurant Vishalla runs the Vechaar Utensils Museum beside its dining courtyards. Makarba itself has turned into an office district at the southern end of SG Highway. There is no metro close by, so come by cab.
