Things to do in Drive-In Road & Memnagar

Drive-In Road links the university area to Thaltej and takes its name from the Sunset Drive-In Cinema, an open-air screen that has been an Ahmedabad landmark since the 1970s. The stretch through Memnagar and Gurukul is a dense, middle-class shopping and eating district: Himalaya Mall, coaching classes, snack chains and restaurant terraces, with banquet halls and society grounds that host garba during Navratri and exhibitions the rest of the year. Dance, music and art academies around Gurukul Road account for many of the workshops listed here. Since 2022 the Blue Line has run along the road, with stations at Gurukul Road and Doordarshan Kendra.
