Things to do in Ashram Road

Ashram Road runs along the west bank of the Sabarmati from Ellisbridge to Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram, and carries a long line of Ahmedabad's institutions. At Usmanpura, the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, founded by Mrinalini and Vikram Sarabhai in 1949, stages dance, theatre and music at its riverside amphitheatre, Natarani. Gujarat Vidyapith, the Gujarati Sahitya Parishad and the Gujarat Vishwakosh Trust host literary events and lectures, and Le Corbusier's Mill Owners' Association Building stands on the same road. The ashram at the northern end is free to visit. Old High Court, the metro's only Red–Blue interchange, is on Ashram Road near Income Tax Circle.
