Stand-up Comedy Shows in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad is a regular stop on every national stand-up tour, and it has a home-grown Gujarati circuit of its own. Headline shows play the city's auditoriums: the Pandit Dindayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Bodakdev, Tagore Hall in Paldi, Thakorbhai Desai Hall at Law Garden and the J. B. Auditorium at the Ahmedabad Management Association, with the biggest names moving up to convention halls and club lawns. Smaller line-up shows and open mics run in cafés and studios around Navrangpura, Prahlad Nagar, Bodakdev and Sindhu Bhavan Road. Sets are in Hindi, Gujarati, English or a mix, and collectives such as The Comedy Factory have built a loyal audience for Gujarati-language comedy. There are no bar gigs here, as Gujarat is a dry state. Most shows are 16+ or 18+ and ban recording.
