Things to do in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar, Gujarat's planned capital, lies about 23 km north of Ahmedabad on the west bank of the Sabarmati, laid out in numbered sectors with wide, tree-lined roads. For visitors its main draws are Swaminarayan Akshardham in Sector 20, with its exhibitions and evening water show, and Indroda Nature Park with its dinosaur and fossil section. Mahatma Mandir and the Helipad Exhibition Centre bring trade fairs and summits, university campuses such as PDEU and IIT Gandhinagar run large student festivals, and the Infocity and Kudasan belts have the cafés and restaurants. The Yellow Line from Motera Stadium has run all the way to Mahatma Mandir since January 2026.
