Things to do in Adalaj

Adalaj is a small town in Gandhinagar district, about 18 km north of central Ahmedabad and 5 km from Gandhinagar, known for one of India's finest stepwells. Adalaj ni Vav, also called the Rudabai stepwell, descends five storeys through carved sandstone pavilions and dates to 1498–99. It is a protected national monument and has served as the backdrop for an annual evening of classical and fusion music staged by a city arts non-profit in the cooler months. The Trimandir temple complex on the highway nearby draws its own crowds. Adalaj has no metro link, so combine it with Gandhinagar or Motera by cab.
