Things to do in Nikol, Naroda & East Ahmedabad

East of the railway line, Ahmedabad is industrial estates, textile markets and large Patidar and working-class neighbourhoods such as Nikol, Naroda, Bapunagar, Odhav and Vastral. Events here are community-scale and often very large: party-plot and society garba through Navratri, religious kathas and dayro folk-music nights, kite-flying terraces at Uttarayan and local cricket tournaments. The one destination that draws visitors from across the city is Auto World Vintage Car Museum on the Dastan estate at Kathwada, off the Sardar Patel Ring Road, home to the late Pranlal Bhogilal's collection of vintage cars and carriages. The Blue Line's eastern leg ends at Vastral Gam.
