The Sabarmati Riverfront is where Ahmedabad holds its biggest public events, and three of them return every winter. The Adani Ahmedabad Marathon starts from Paldi on Sunday 29 November 2026. The municipal corporation's flower show takes over the Riverfront Flower Park and event grounds in January, with dates and ticket prices announced in December. And the International Kite Festival brings kite teams from around the world to the west bank in the days before Uttarayan on 14 January. Between them, the event grounds near Paldi host book fairs, trade and consumer exhibitions, food festivals, religious gatherings and ticketed concerts, on a lawn that can hold more than 50,000 people. The riverfront itself is an attraction: promenades of about 11 km on each bank, the 300-metre Atal Pedestrian Bridge, opened in 2022, gardens at Subhash Bridge and Usmanpura, a biodiversity park, sports complexes at Paldi and Shahpur and the Ravivari Sunday market on the east bank. A dinner cruise operates from the riverfront; recreational boating and kayaking were halted in 2024, so check the current position before planning water activities. The Red Line runs parallel to the west bank. This page lists events along the riverfront as they are announced.

- The riverfront is 11 km long. Check exactly which gate, ground or park an event uses before you set out.
- For Atal Bridge and the Flower Park, go on a weekday evening. Weekend queues at the ticket counters are long.
- The flower show is busiest in its first weekend and on public holidays. Morning slots are calmer and better for photographs.
- Take the Red Line to Paldi, Gandhigram or Old High Court; riverfront roads are often closed or one-way during big events.
- There is very little shade on the lower promenade. In warm months, walk before 9 am or after 6 pm.
