About Thakorbhai Desai Hall

Thakorbhai Desai Hall is the proscenium auditorium beside Law Garden in Ellisbridge and one of the central addresses of Gujarati-language theatre in Ahmedabad. Commercial Gujarati plays touring from Mumbai, local troupes, sugam sangeet and old-film-song evenings, classical dance arangetrams and literary functions make up most of its bookings, and stand-up comedians and motivational speakers use it for mid-sized shows. Its position is its main advantage: the Law Garden night market and food street are directly outside, C.G. Road is a few minutes away and buses stop at the gate. Gujarati plays in the city often start late in the evening, with extra afternoon shows on Sundays, so check the time printed on your ticket.
