About Indroda Nature Park
Indroda Nature Park stretches along the Sabarmati on the southern edge of Gandhinagar and is best known for its dinosaur and fossil section. The fossil park was set up with the Geological Survey of India and displays fossilised remains and petrified dinosaur eggs brought from Raiyoli near Balasinor in Gujarat, one of the world's largest dinosaur hatchery sites, alongside life-size dinosaur models that children climb around. It is an interpretive park, not the place where the animals actually nested. The wider grounds include a zoo and deer park, a botanical and cactus garden, the skeleton of a blue whale, walking trails and picnic areas. It works well as a half-day outing with children, paired with Akshardham in the evening.
