About GIFT City
GIFT City, the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, is a greenfield business district on the Sabarmati in Gandhinagar district, about 12 km from Ahmedabad airport, and home to India's first International Financial Services Centre. Its office towers, hotels, club and open plots host finance and technology conferences, corporate offsites, runs and, since 2024, large ticketed concerts. It is also the only place in Gujarat with licensed wine-and-dine facilities. Under the Home Department's order of 20 December 2025, people aged 21 or over who are not from Gujarat, or who are foreign nationals, can be served in licensed hotels and restaurants on showing valid photo ID. Employees hold liquor access permits, and each may host up to 25 visitors on temporary permits.
