About Atal Bridge & Riverfront Flower Park

The Atal Pedestrian Bridge is a 300-metre footbridge across the Sabarmati, 10 to 14 metres wide, with a multicoloured steel canopy inspired by the city's kite-flying tradition. It opened in 2022 and links the west bank's Riverfront Flower Park with the east bank, sitting between Ellis Bridge and Sardar Bridge. The Flower Park at its western end, opened in 2016, covers about five hectares and is planted with some 330 native and exotic species; it becomes the showpiece of the municipal flower show in January. Entry to both is ticketed and controlled, with separate queues on busy evenings. The bridge is lit after dark and is one of the most photographed spots in the city.
